At Affordable Separation, we understand that going through a separation is likely to be one of the most the disruptive experiences of your life.
Going through a separation can be a scary, stressful and expensive process.

One of the biggest complaints I hear about Lawyers is that they are never available to clients.
At Affordable Separation, we aim to be available to guide you every step of the way. There is no such thing as a silly or stupid question. We understand that this is a confusing time and we aim to be available to you.
We will keep you updated at every step of the process until the finalisation of your legal issue.

Reason #2
Fast Turn Around
Another complaint that I heard about Lawyers is the slow delivery of services.

At Affordable Separation, we aim to provide a first draft for your review of your legal documents within 72 Hours* of you providing us with all the required documents and information required from you.
This will allow you to move on with your life as quickly as possible.

Reason #3
Affordable and Fixed Price Model*
Perhaps the biggest barrier for people accessing legal advice is cost.

At Affordable Separation, we aim to offer quality services at affordable prices. In most of our services, we offer a fixed fee model* so you know exactly how much you need to budget and pay for when retaining our service.
We also offer a payment plan, if required.

Our Services
In Australia, when couples separate there are generally three main things that separating couples will need to think about. These are the division of matrimonial property, the arrangement as to the Children, and Divorce (for married couples).

Additional services that we offer which may also be required by clients on a case-to-case basis include, transferring property from one spouse to the other, preparation of sale documents to sell properties (where required), Superannuation transfer (or Split), and the preparation of Wills and other Testamentary Documents.
Property Settlement
If you and your spouse have agreed on how you wish to divide your matrimonial property, we can assist in formalising the division of the matrimonial property by way of a Consent Order or Financial Agreement.
These methods will minimise the risk that the other party might seek more payments later down the track and will minimise
the risk of costly litigations in the future.

Example of Orders that may be sought includes an Order to transfer or sale a property, a Superannuation Payment (Split) or a Payment Order.

We offer a fixed fee pricing model for Property Consent Orders and Financial Agreements starting* at $1,800.00 ex-GST.

Parenting Arrangement
Formalising a parenting arrangement by way of Consent Orders is important as it provides a level of certainty to you and the Children on how you and your estranged partner as to the Parenting Arrangement of the Children until they turn 18.

The Parenting Arrangement could be simple or as detailed as you need.
Examples of what Orders may be sought includes who the Children lives with, spend time arrangements and arrangement for international or interstate travel.
We offer a fixed fee pricing model for Parenting Consent Orders and ParentingAgreements starting* at $1,800.00 ex-GST.

Divorce
Whether your marriage occurred in Australia or Overseas, you may be eligible to obtain a Divorce to end the marriage in Australia.

Your estranged spouse is not required to agree and give consent for a Divorce to be granted.

Getting a Divorce Order is important because it will allow you to legally remarry without committing the Crime of Bigamy and it starts the countdown which will limit your estranged partner's ability to obtain a Property Settlement.

We offer two fixed pricing models for Divorce:
Simple Divorce starting* at $600.00 ex-GST or
Complex Divorce starting* at $1,000.00 ex-GST.

Meet Arjee Renaud
Principal Lawyer
Arjee is passionate about providing quality and affordable legal services to her clients.

Having migrated to Australia in 2010, and having experienced how daunting it is to navigate the often confusing world of the Australian Legal System, Arjee understands how important it is for clients to be able to talk to someone that can explain their legal entitlements and provide an easy to understand and follow plan on how to achieve the outcome that clients are seeking.

Arjee has seen cases where husbands and wives have missed out on their property entitlements because they could not afford to pay legal fees or were unsure where to start.

Arjee has also seen cases, where the threat of Bigamy was hanging over people because their estranged husband or wife is not willing to cooperate with getting a Divorce Order. In some cases, estranged spouses have demanded payments before they would agree to a Divorce.

If you have a question about your legal entitlement to marital assets, your rights to spend time with your Children, or wish to obtain a Divorce but do not know where to start, Arjee is happy to assist.
